Introduction
Abdul (อับดุล) is an AI personal assistant delivered through the LINE messaging platform and operated at https://abdul-ai.com/. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how deletion works, and the choices available to you.
For purposes of Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), Abdul is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Abdul, we currently collect the following categories of data:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Content you send to Abdul | Text messages, images, files, links, reminder text, tasks, and other content you choose to send in LINE. |
| LINE identity data | Your LINE user ID and, when provided by LINE Login / LIFF, your display name and profile picture URL. |
| Onboarding and account data | Mobile phone number, chosen nickname, registration status, access status, and optional early-access survey answers such as age range, most wanted feature, and referral source. |
| Stored assistant data | Notes, memory items, reminders, reminder history, tasks, file metadata, and profile preferences Abdul stores to operate the service. |
| Integration data | If you connect Google Calendar, we process the calendar connection status and the calendar data needed to read, create, update, or delete calendar events on your behalf. |
| Technical and usage data | Timestamps, message and request identifiers, feature usage, service logs, usage metering, and security or reliability events. |
Abdul currently supports text, images, files, links, reminders, tasks, and optional Google Calendar connection. Audio and video messages may be received through LINE, but they are not currently part of Abdul’s normal supported capture flow and may not be fully processed or stored by Abdul.
Legal Bases
Under Thailand’s PDPA, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases depending on the activity:
| Processing activity | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing Abdul’s core service | Contract performance |
| Reminders, task management, and file retrieval | Contract performance |
| Google Calendar connection and sync | Consent |
| Security, abuse prevention, debugging, and service improvement | Legitimate interests |
| Compliance with law and lawful requests | Legal obligation |
How We Use Information
We use personal data to operate Abdul, including to receive and process your messages, store memories and files, answer questions, send reminders, manage tasks, and provide the LIFF mini-app and related account features.
We also use data to personalize the service, maintain conversation continuity, support optional integrations such as Google Calendar, protect the service against abuse or failures, and improve reliability, safety, and product quality.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your personal data for third-party targeted advertising.
Google User Data and Limited Use
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Abdul requests the Google Calendar events scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events) so it can read your upcoming events to brief you on your day, and create or edit events when you ask it to in natural language.
We only use Google user data to provide and improve these user-facing calendar features. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide or improve these features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to users. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless you give consent to view specific content, it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Abdul’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing and Service Providers
We share data only when needed to operate Abdul and its connected features. Depending on the feature you use, recipients may include:
- LINE Corporation, because Abdul operates through LINE and receives messages and identity data from LINE.
- OpenRouter and underlying model providers used to generate Abdul’s AI responses from your prompts and context.
- Embedding and retrieval providers we use to make saved content searchable.
- Google, if you choose to connect Google Calendar.
- Cloud and infrastructure providers that host our database, object storage, queues, and other application infrastructure.
- Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the service.
Some features, such as link understanding or web-connected capabilities, may require Abdul to fetch external content or use third-party service providers to process that request.
Retention and Deletion
We keep personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Abdul, maintain your account, provide requested features, enforce our terms, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not currently apply the fixed 1-year or 2-year deletion schedules described in some template privacy policies. Instead, retention depends on the specific data type and product workflow.
For files you delete from the file manager, Abdul currently uses a temporary trash window. Deleted files may remain restorable for up to 24 hours before permanent purge. Permanent delete actions and account-level deletion requests are intended to remove associated stored content from our active systems.
Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or disaster-recovery systems until they are rotated out in the ordinary course.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data. These include transport encryption, access controls, scoped per-user data handling, and encryption for sensitive integration credentials stored by the system.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that triggers notification obligations under applicable law, we will act in accordance with those legal requirements.
International Transfers
Because Abdul relies on third-party infrastructure and AI providers, your data may be processed outside Thailand. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards under applicable law for those transfers.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability, and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Cookies and Web Tracking
Abdul’s core service runs through LINE. The current landing page and privacy-policy page do not rely on a dedicated advertising or analytics cookie banner. If we later add non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies to our website, we will update our disclosures accordingly.
Children
Abdul is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and may also notify users through Abdul or our website.
